I have an absolute aversion to everything about my cell phone — from the sound of its ring to the idea that I (or anyone) should be available at all times. I deal by avoidance: I leave it in the car most of the time.
I usually check messages every day or two, except on the weekends, when I completely ignore it. Which means they’ve piled up by Monday morning.
